Definity Foundation names Chief Investment and Program Officer
Since the Definity Foundation began hiring in 2022, we have deliberately invested in building a team capable of carrying our mission forward. As the organization continues to grow in scope, ambition, and impact, it is important that our leadership structure evolves alongside it.
As part of that evolution, Wayne Miranda has assumed the role of Chief Investment and Program Officer, effective today.
“One of the positive challenges of a growing organization is to ensure we have the right people in the right roles to support both internal effectiveness and external engagement,” says Arti Freeman, president and CEO. “When Wayne joined the Foundation, we recognized not only his exceptional investment expertise, but also his broader leadership potential. Wayne brings a rare combination of expertise spanning international development, impact investing, and systems transformation.”
Before joining Definity Foundation as Director, Social Finance and Impact Investing, Wayne worked in Canada and internationally – focused on poverty reduction, agricultural development, and economic opportunity. His experiences in entrepreneurship, leadership, and systems thinking roles have brought him an understanding that access to capital and markets is often one of the most significant barriers facing the people and communities who seek lasting change. That insight has led Wayne toward finance and investing as tools for advancing positive social and economic outcomes.
Wayne’s experience across the private, public, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors combined with his perspective on systemic investing and systems transformation will continue to serve Definity Foundation across both our investment and program portfolios. With Wayne’s leadership, we will continue to align our resources, relationships, and expertise in pursuit of transformative outcomes.
Please join us in congratulating Wayne on this well-deserved appointment.
