Announcing updates to our Board of Directors

We are pleased to share the following changes to our Board of Directors.

First, we give a heartfelt welcome to Nicole McDonald as the Definity Foundation’s new Chair. Nicole is an established Métis leader and has been serving on our Board since 2023. We welcome her leadership as Definity Foundation continues to move forward on our ambitious goals. At the same time, we hold deep gratitude for Justin Wiebe’s thoughtful contributions during his time as Chair. We look forward to his continued contributions as he steps into the position of Past Chair.

We are further honoured to welcome Relay Tangie to our Board of Directors. Relay is a strategic leader with more than 20 years of experience in accounting, governance, and strategic management across economic development, telecommunications, and healthcare. She joins us from the Indigenous Prosperity Foundation and NACCA (the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association), where she holds leadership positions. We look forward to benefiting from her experience and insight.

Lastly, we say fond farewell to Zeina Osman as she steps down from the Board. Zeina’s support and contributions have been invaluable during her time with the Definity Foundation; we are sincerely grateful for her perspective and expertise.

“Strong governance has been instrumental in helping us continue and strengthen our work,” says Arti Freeman, President and CEO of Definity Foundation. “An engaged, thoughtful, and values-aligned Board provides the guidance, oversight, and stewardship that every organization needs to thrive. We are deeply grateful to these individuals and the rest of our Board for their service and commitment.”
