New report: Spending pathways for foundations

In November 2023, the Definity Insurance Foundation commissioned a report from The Philanthropist Journal to understand the various spending pathways for foundations. These pathways include continuing in perpetuity, limited life or spending down, and a spectrum of other approaches funders are using – or considering – to make a meaningful contribution in society. What was clear in the research is that being intentional about which spending pathway you choose will have an impact on its effectiveness.
